Karen M. Horry is a New York City native. At an early age, she knew that she wanted to become an entrepreneur. While attending high school as a senior, at Bethel Christian Learning Center, located in Queens Village, NY, her teachers recognized an extraordinary gift within her. They mentored her closely in the areas of Godly principles, integrity, and business. It was there that she was introduced to a career in real estate. Karen had also watched her parents buy and sell numerous properties throughout her younger years, which peaked her curiosity.
After graduating from Bethel, and prior to beginning her freshman year at St. John’s University, Karen attended The Star Career Center and obtained her NY Real Estate Salesperson license at the age of 18. While working as a bank teller during the day and attending college full-time, she devoted her evenings and her weekends to real estate. At the age of 19, Karen sold her first home. After that, she pursued a career in mortgages. By the age of 22, she became a homeowner.
Later, Karen finished her undergraduate studies at North Carolina Wesleyan College and graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Accounting.
In 2008, at the age of 24, Karen founded her own real estate firm. A few years later, by the age of 28, she secured government contracts to sell bank-owned properties.
Utilizing her degree and experiences in accounting, business, real estate and finance, Karen founded Horry Financial Group, along with her husband, Joseph Horry III in February of 2022.
Horry Financial Group offers an array of financial services including: tax preparation, bookkeeping, financial and real estate investment planning, and now life, health insurance, and annuity options.
